  Step into the world of Charles Perrault—beyond the fairy tales you thought you knew. This talk uncovers the hidden visual and rhetorical strategies behind Perrault’s storytelling, revealing his fairy tale “morals” as unillustrated devises—double-sided coins that conceal as much as they reveal.

  Jennifer examines the iconographic programs for two of Perrault’s projects: the Labyrinthe de Versailles and Le Cabinet des Beaux Arts. Both works are set in an Edenic space that reflects Perrault’s vision of the role of women in a perfectly ordered world.
